Ultimate League: The End of the Trip

As of late evening of Saturday 16/01/2016 Serene no longer competes in the FS Ultimate League.

After 26 games and 3 exhausting months the club finished 10th getting 26 points in the proccess.

Since Serene didn't make the Top 8, the team will not be progressing to the knockout stage. However, this was more of less expected because of the high level of the opponents.

In the few games with evenly-levelled PMCs Serene pulled off some hard-fought results:

20/11/15 Serene 2 : 2 Fc United Nations

23/11/15 Serene 3 : 0 Alba Aquilas

02/01/16 Fc United Nations 1 : 6 Serene

04/01/16 Alba Aquilas 5 : 3 Serene

The final game of the league became another highlight of the season as the team managed to draw against FC Crvena Zvezda.

PLAYER STATISTICS:

In such an extended and on-going competition rotation seems like the only option for most clubs and this is the case with Serene as Osaki used a total of 18 players throughout the league.

Some played more and some less but everyone contributed and fought hard when given the opportunity. Below are the top 7 players in terms of appearances made:

Sawamura proved to be the top goalscoring machine having scored 10 goals followed by the Italian duo, Socrates and Zidinho, having scored 6 and 7 goals respectively.

After 3 hard months of focusing on Ultimate League the club can finally take a breath and get back into the training routine to be ready for future competitions.

It has been an interesting and beneficial journey filled with passion, anxiety, disappointment and joy. It gave us a lot to think about and while we've already seen improvement in some areas during the league, there's still a lot to be learnt in future.

We would like to say thanks to all the teams who took part for being fair opponents to us. We would also like to congratulate the top 8 teams with qualifying for the knock-out stage - we wish everyone good luck in the rest of the league.
